Resources for Prison Chaplains

Get Refreshed

Flourishing Inside Away Day

One of our findings during the focus group day with practitioners was that most prison chaplains have only one annual opportunity to see chaplains from outside their own prison, and would value additional venues for building relationships and sharing good practice. Even in the format of a research-based focus group, the participants valued the time together and expressed the desire for additional gathering opportunities, particularly for women in prison pastoral work.

MBIT will host an annual away day for women working in prison pastoral care to reconnect and recharge.

The day will have minimal programming to allow time and space for:

  • meeting with other women in prison ministry in a space for lay Catholic women
  • reconnecting through meals and conversation
  • sharing concerns, needs, advice, and resources
  • and joining in prayer and worship together.
